Richard Ings
Canberra's Trusted Live Acoustic Musician
Richard Ings is a Canberra-based solo acoustic singer-songwriter whose performances centre on well-loved covers and his own original songs. Since picking up the guitar in 2018, he has grown from open-mic nights to playing more than 60 gigs a year at pubs, cafés, festivals, corporate events and community settings across the ACT and regional NSW.
Influenced by artists like Neil Finn, Paul Kelly, James Taylor and Paul Simon, Richard blends heartfelt originals with acoustic interpretations of popular tunes from the 1960s to today. His warm, engaging style ensures every show resonates with the audience — whether entertaining at a bustling pub, a private function, or a community event.
Richard also delivers the specialist Music and Memories™ program — a unique 60-minute interactive sing-along experience for aged care residences and retirement villages across Canberra.
